Q. How do I send my digital photos to you?
A. There are 2 ways to do this:
1. We send you a prepaid mailer and you send us your camera’s memory card
2. Or, we send you a prepaid mailer and you send us your digital photos on a CD ROM. Please indicate the order that you would like to view them on the DVD slide show. If you don’t have a CD burner, you can get a CD made at Walgreens, CVS, Costco, or other photo processing stores.
Q. Can you use my images if they are housed on an image-sharing website?
A. Although there are some very useful image-sharing programs on the internet for sending and sharing digital images, many of them do not support high resolution images. In order to provide you with a high quality finished product, images should be provided at a minimum of 150 d.p.i. In general, the higher the resolution of the images you send us, the higher the quality of your DVD slide show.
Q. Will you return my memory card?
A. Of course, we will return your memory card with your order.
Q. Can I send you a specific song for my DVD?
A. You can pick your own music for inclusion on the DVD. To include copyrighted music, you must provide an original recording to be used in your production (no burned copies please). Your original source material (music & photos) will be returned to you with your order.
Q. Do you provide the music for my DVD?
A. You can suggest a music genre (rock, classical, jazz) or, if you prefer, you can pay for specific songs ( Click here for pricing ). When requesting music, please specify the name of the song and the artist.
Q. Where can I run my DVD slideshow?
A. If you have a laptop or computer with a DVD player, you can view your DVD slideshow there. If you have a DVD player attached to your TV, you can watch it on the TV screen.
Q. How do I pay for my DVD & DVD copies?
A. We offer two ways to pay – send a check to our P.O. Box or pay securely online with your credit card.
Q. How long will it take until I receive my DVD slide show?
A. Once we receive your payment, we’ll send a pre-paid envelope to you within 48 hours. Send us your photo CD or memory card in the pre-paid envelope (U.S. mail). Once we receive your envelope, we’ll mail your order to you within 5 business days. If you require faster service, or, you would like us to touch-up your pictures, please email us at requests@hocusfocuspictures.com to determine the turnaround time for your DVD slide show.
Q. Do I have to advance the slides manually?
A. No. Once you press the play button on your DVD player, the slides will move forward on their own. You do have the option to pause or fast forward, just as on a standard DVD.
Q. How do I supply a narration for my DVD slide show?
A. Send your WAV, WMA or MP3 files to requests@hocusfocuspictures.com. Any file greater than 5MB should be copied to a CD ROM and sent with your pictures. Please email us with any specific instructions regarding your narration.
